Helium Balloon

Do you know who first flew a hot-air balloon? Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier and François Laurent d'Arlandes performed the worlds’ first manned flight in a hot-air balloon on 21 November 1783. The balloon aircraft was created by the Montgolfier brothers. In a hot-air balloon, an open flame is used to create the hot air which is trapped in a bag called the envelope. Since the density of the heated air inside the envelope has a lower density that the relatively cold air outside, the aircraft is able to float. Another way to make balloons float is to fill them with buoyant gas such as hydrogen or helium. I like to see balloons being released into the sky all at the same time. It gives me the high feeling of freedom. My little girl likes to hang on to a floating balloon when we go shopping. Her favourite is the Hello Kitty balloon. What about yours?
